How many visits do I get with NYSHIP Empire Plan?

NYSHIP plans allow:

1. Up to 20 acupuncture visits per year
2. Up to 20 medical massage visits per year

Unused visits DO NOT roll over to the next year.

What if I don’t have NYSHIP or any insurance? Do you accept self-pay patients?

Yes we have many customers that either don't have NYSHIP insurance and receive treatment with our affordable self pay rates. To get the best deals they usually purchase a package, call our office to find out about any deals or promotions.

Will I know my costs before treatment?

Yes, if there are any out of pocket expenses we will confirm any financial responsibility with full transparency prior to starting treatment. No surprises, we promise!

Do I need a Referral/Prescription for a Medical massage or Acupuncture?

Yes, insurance providers like NYSHIP require a prescription to cover medical massage or acupuncture. Our medical doctor (MD) or physician assistant (PA) will meet with you prior to your first appointment. Contact us for guidance on how to proceed with your specific situation.

Is Acupuncture safe?

When performed by licensed practitioners, acupuncture is considered safe and widely used for pain, stress, musculoskeletal conditions and functional conditions.

What should I expect during my first session?

Your massage or acupuncture therapist will review your patient intake forms, medical providers notes, and conduct a brief health assessment. Your provider will discuss the areas you want to target and then customize a therapeutic treatment plan that is aligned with your medical history and goals. Prepare to relax, heal, and rejuvenate!

What’s the difference between Medical Massage and Spa Massage for NYSHIP coverage?

Medical massage is condition-based treatment performed by licensed providers and focused on pain, injury, or functional issues.
Spa or relaxation massage is not covered by NYSHIP.
